By leveraging on modern technology, Shonchoy has eliminated the need to fill-up long cumbersome account-opening/ investment forms. It also provides a variety of choices across different asset classes and service providers from which you can easily pick one you need. Our algorithm can recommend asset allocation based on your personal finance situation, market valuations and macroeconomic conditions. Finally, you can keep track of your investments and their performance via our easy-to-use dashboard- you can liquidate or sell any existing investment from the platform easily on the go, too.

Co-founder

Ali is an investment professional with more than 13 years of experience in the financial markets of Bangladesh. Before starting Shonchoy, Ali co-founded EDGE Asset Management (www.edgeamc.com) and EDGE Research and Consulting (www.edgernc.com) to offer high quality investment research and management services to Bangladesh-focused capital market investors. Shonchoy.com is a general extension of the same vision of best-serving investors’ needs across different asset-classes with a combination of modern financial services and technological development.

Previously, Ali was the Research Director at BRAC EPL Stock Brokerage (prime broker to foreign institutional investors), Investment Analyst at IFC (World Bank’s private sector investment arm) and Investment Banking Analyst at Eastern Bank. He completed BBA program from Finance Department of Dhaka University and is a CFA-charterholder since 2011.

Asif Khan, CFA
Co-founder

Asif is an investment professional with more than 12 years of experience. He is co-founder of EDGE Asset Management and EDGE Research and Consulting Limited. Before starting EDGE, he worked for global firms such as Caravel Management LLC and Exotix Partners/Tellimer covering frontier and emerging market equities. Asif brings multi asset investing knowledge to Shonchoy across Equities, Fixed Income and Startups.

Asif is a founder director of CFA Society Bangladesh. He also writes frequently on investment topics on his blog and in newspapers.

Fahad is a self-taught designer/engineer. He serves as Senior Vice President & Head of Product at Pathao – the largest platform for ride-sharing, food delivery, and e-commerce logistics in Bangladesh and Nepal. Fahad was part of the Pathao founding team and helped scale the company to a $100M valuation. Outside of his day job, Fahad serves a Global Shaper at the World Economic Forum. He studied Finance at IBA, University of Dhaka.

Tusar is the technology-lead at Shonchoy.com with rich training and experience in building scalable software solutions for different industry for more than 4 years. Before Shonchoy.com, Tusar was a Developer at Triva IT Limited and Creative System Limited. He specializes in PHP, Javascript, Laravel, Vue.js, Mysql, C, C++ and other web and software development technologies. He completed B.Sc. in Computer Science & Engineering from National University of Bangladesh.

  • All types of personal finance related decisions, such as investment decisions, made under the Shonchoy.com system are investors’ own decisions and no other party, including Shonchoy.com would be responsible for such decisions.
  • Shonchoy.com will provide personal finance related services to its customers’ in association with different financial service companies (banks/ NBFIs/ brokers/ asset managers etc.). Under no circumstance, Shonchoy.com will be responsible for the service-quality or performance (profit or loss ) of the ultimate underlying financial service provider.
  • Respective third-party financial institutions (banks/ NBFIs/ brokers/ asset managers etc.) will be the ultimate responsible parties for delivering timely, accurate and committed services to Shonchoy.com’s customers or the first party. By taking Shonchoy.com’s services, its customer automatically agrees that s/he has read, understood and accepted all the terms and conditions related to a particular financial product and service offered by the third-party financial service companies.
  • Shonchoy.com will serve its customers with the accurate set of personal finance and investment related data and information on the best effort-basis. However, Shonchoy.com will source most of this data and information from dependent third parties- hence there can be data-quality issues. In such an unlikely situation, Shonchoy.com will not be responsible for subsequent consequences, if any.

Privacy Policy

  • Shonchoy.com will strictly maintain confidentiality of customer’s personal information and financial data. No such personal information and financial data will be shared with any external parties without explicit consent taken from the respective customer. Management officials access to customer data will be limited to the extent needed for servicing customer’s designated problem/ request.
  • No personal documents such as photo, NID or TIN etc. of Shonchoy.com’s customers will be shared with any unauthorized external party. Such documents will be shared only if such is necessary for the work assigned to Shonchoy.com by its customer.
